Matt rings up a guy and tries to bargain with him to get the cheapest airline ticket.PLEASE NOTE: I in no way own these gotcha calls, all credit goes to Matt himself :) I just wanted to upload these so everyone else who either doesn’t listen to the radio or doesn’t download podcasts can listen to these on the internet.

I recently returned from a trip to the US and Canada. I didn’t buy travel insurance because I figured I was covered, having used my Platinum credit card to buy the ticket. Was I just plain lucky nothing happened to me during my trip? Did I take unnecessary risks? Is my Platinum card medical cover really equivalent to a travel insurance?

Ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye put off his travel plans back home last evening, just hours after being barred from boarding an earlier flight to Entebbe. Besigye says he decided against travelling to Uganda after consultations with his political advisers who advised him against travelling aboard the 5.30 pm rescheduled Kenya Airways flight. Besigye was asked to disembark from his flight, KQ 410 following information from Kenya Airways internal intelligence sources that the aircraft would not be allowed to land at the Entebbe International Airport if the Uganda opposition leaders was on board. The leader was stranded at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport for close to ten hours. Tony Sanya with the details

Hello,

I will be going to California for 26 days this summer and am currently trying to find a travel insurance to cover my trip. I might go to Mexico for a day or two as well so that should be covered too.

I know that Boots does an insurance but it seems rather expensive. Do you know of any other options? Preferrably I’d like to be able to walk into a store in London and purchase it rather than doing it online.

Thanks.

WMPH Vacations presents a clever animation on the importance of buying travel insurance before your cruise vacation.

I have some very old ancient PDA, and for the 4th time had it exchanged.

I had to call customer service, and basically they allowed an early 2-year upgrade over the phone..
and they sold me a Samsung Saga, retail 0 for , and added the /month data plan.

So now, my next bill is going to be the
rate plan + data plan + text + insurance + new phone.
= 7 for next month.

and my monthly bill went from /month to /month.

Does this seem like a rip off?

We teamed up with Ben TV to bring you this short documentary on why it’s important to take out travel insurance even if you are going to visit family and friends in a country you are familiar with. We talk to insurance experts and reveal the real cost of not having insurance.

I am an Australian in Canada and my travel insurance ran out 7 days ago. My insurer will not extend my policy as it has been more than 48hrs since it lapsed, and they won’t issue a new policy because I have already left the country. Does anyone know of an insurance company that will offer cover after you have already left home?

My older sister is a needy sort, her life is full of self-induced drama and she thrives on chaos! I know she goes through a hard time (ALL of the time) as a result of bad choices she has made and the failure to make good ones. I understand people who are in a bind need support or someone to vent to, but this is ALL she does. She never calls to just "catch up", there’s always strings attached and you end up on the phone for an hour nodding in forced agreement and maybe squeezing in a few "uh huh’s", listening to her latest dilemma. This is why most people avoid her phone calls!

My problem lies in that she is a patient at the dental office where I work…lovely. Today she calls to make an appointment and the office manager, someone who’s become a good friend of mine, falls prey to her endless sorrowful saga. So, I come back from lunch to the office manager saying "I just talked to your sister. Boy is SHE going through a tough time…her job (yep, she got fired), her medications (oh, please divulge more of your private life to my co-workers!). My jaw dropped…like, WHY IN THE WORLD is she calling MY co-workers and dishing her life story!? Is it just me or is this incredibly inappropriate? First of all, we are a dental office, not a hotline, and second, these people have no idea in the world what to do with this information! From the sound of it, she divulged more than just "oh, my insurance is all messed up, I don’t have my job anymore, and my medications have changed". It was the full out drama of WHY she doesn’t have the job and all the details of her so called "reaction" to her medication.

I’m embarrassed for her, and it sure bugs me that she’s tromped into my professional life now too!

What am I supposed to say to her? She’s desperate for the first "listening ear" and it’s just not the place for it.

Let me begin, by saying-this ain’t a rant, but an intervention-al
question, because I have joined the ranks of the unemployed some time ago, but as a staunch American, I decided to start my own business, which has embroiled me copy-write lawsuits.
My art work that I slaved to market, has been stolen right from under me, and I’m rightfully livid about it.
But part two of this saga, is mind numbing, why does everyone feel that the internet is the
ONLY way to hire the right person? It isn’t, and I’ll tell ya why, a face speaks a thousand words-believe it or not, and the internet speaks one. This no walk in policy that employment agencies and
most companies have adopted, is crap, and I don’t care if anybody accuses me of ranting, too many people are unemployed, and some people can’t afford the internet on unemployment insurance, when other priorities are in tow. Americans have become complacent and silent over these drastic changes,
in employment practices, it’s not old school, it’s horrendous, and it’s slamming the door in someones face, before they knocked on it.
